Through its periodic contests (including annual essay and oratorial contests), forum discussions and lectures, video documentaries, scholarships and other awards, FDMHA strives to enlighten the public and spur action in safeguarding and furthering the ideals championed by Frederick Douglas.
Some of FDMHA’s efforts in this direction has resulted in community support leading to legislation and even financial support to preserve the legacy and further the ideals championed by Frederick Douglass.
